AC Milan Reports Progress in Managerial Talks with Matthias Jaissle
Serie A club AC Milan is reportedly making progress in its search for a new manager. Reports indicate that Matthias Jaissle, currently managing Al-Ahli, is a strong candidate following a promising meeting with Milan's Gerry Cardinale in London. While Jaissle is reportedly willing to reduce a significant portion of his €11 million salary, a €6 million release clause from his current club remains a key hurdle, with Cardinale reportedly reluctant to pay the full amount.
AC Milan, a Serie A club, is reportedly advancing in its pursuit of a new manager, following previous difficulties in filling both managerial and sporting director roles.
Daniele Longo has reported significant progress in discussions with Matthias Jaissle. The current Al-Ahli boss recently held a meeting with Milan's Gerry Cardinale in London, which was described as promising. Optimism regarding Jaissle as the potential next Milan manager has reportedly been present since initial contacts made via Zoom.
Adding to this positive outlook, the German manager is reportedly prepared to forgo a substantial part of his current €11 million annual salary. However, a significant obstacle remains in the form of Jaissle's €6 million release clause. Cardinale is reportedly hesitant to pay this sum.
While progress is noted, the deal is not yet finalized. Milan has faced similar situations in the past where promising discussions with potential managers ultimately did not lead to an agreement. The release clause is currently identified as the main point of contention, as Saudi clubs are typically not in need of financial incentives and are considered unlikely to accept a reduced fee for Jaissle's departure.
Ruben Amorim is also reportedly being considered as another potential candidate for the managerial position.
