Spanish full-back Angelino has indicated his preference to continue playing for AS Roma, despite reports of interest from La Liga club Deportivo La Coruña. His future is a central point for Roma as the club plans significant adjustments to its flank positions under a new technical project. Angelino's previous season was hampered by a long-term injury, limiting his on-field consistency and fitness.
Angelino, the Spanish full-back, has expressed his intention to remain with AS Roma, despite interest emerging from Spain's Deportivo La Coruña.
Roma is currently undergoing a strategic restructuring of its flank positions. This "mini-revolution" aims to align the squad with new technical requirements and build a team more suited to Gasperini’s project. While Wesley is considered a permanent fixture, the status of other players in the department, including Angelino, is still being finalized.
Angelino's past season was significantly affected by a serious injury, which prevented him from consistently demonstrating optimal fitness. The former Manchester City and Leipzig player made seven league appearances and two in the Europa League for Roma.
Deportivo La Coruña, Angelino's former club which recently returned to La Liga, is reportedly monitoring his situation as a potential reinforcement for their left flank. However, Angelino's current desire is to stay at Trigoria and convince manager Gasperini to include him in the Giallorossi’s coaching project.
As of now, it is unclear whether Deportivo La Coruña will submit an official offer to Roma. The player, however, is keen to demonstrate his qualities after what he describes as a troubled season.
According to Yahoo Sports Soccer, Angelino aims to carve out a space for himself within Roma.
