Apple App Store to Introduce Expanded Subscription Bundles
Apple has announced plans to expand App Store bundles, allowing them to include subscription offers from various companies. These new bundles for iPhone apps are expected to become available later this year. The initiative aims to provide options similar to existing streaming video bundles, potentially combining different services. Additionally, Apple will introduce "Suites," a new offering comprising sets of subscriptions that are not available individually but can be purchased as a single subscription.
Apple is set to introduce expanded subscription bundles for iPhone apps later this year, according to a recent announcement. The update will allow the App Store to offer bundles that combine services from different companies, marking a significant change in its subscription model.
This new approach is comparable to existing streaming video bundles, such as those that combine offers for services like Apple TV and Peacock. The expanded bundles could potentially group subscriptions for various independent services, for example, combining a social media premium offering with a dating app's subscription.
In addition to these multi-company bundles, Apple also plans to introduce a new feature called "Suites." Suites will consist of curated sets of subscriptions that are not available for individual purchase. Users will be able to acquire these collections as a single subscription package.
The new additions were reportedly announced during the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). Publications including TechCrunch and 9to5Mac have also reported on these upcoming App Store enhancements.
