Argentinians Queue for Miles to Mourn Rock Star Carlos ‘Indio’ Solari

Hundreds of thousands of Argentinians converged in Avellaneda, a suburb of Buenos Aires, to mourn the passing of rock star Carlos ‘Indio’ Solari. Fans lined up for more than 7 kilometers (four miles) to pay their respects.

The extensive queue showcased a profound cross-generational devotion to Solari, especially evident among the working class. As mourners progressed towards a chapel holding the rock star's body, many engaged in communal tributes.

Attendees sang rock songs, waved banners, and carried speakers that blasted Solari's music. The atmosphere included smoke rising from makeshift barbecues, and vendors were present, selling T-shirts bearing the image of a bald man with sunglasses, presumed to be Solari.

Despite a drizzle that began as evening fell, the lengthy queue persisted, demonstrating the fans' dedication. The procession ultimately led to a chapel situated in Avellaneda, outer Buenos Aires, where Solari's body was housed.

According to The Guardian World, Carlos 'Indio' Solari, though perhaps unknown to much of the world, was a massively influential figure in Argentina's rock scene.
