Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced to Feature Exclusive Edward and Caroline Cutscene
Ubisoft is developing "Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced," an ambitious remake of the popular pirate-themed game. This overhaul includes significant changes to combat and game mechanics, alongside a refined story. Darby McDevitt, lead writer of the original title, has returned as a consultant to enhance the narrative, specifically adding three new cutscenes to Edward Kenway's story. The first of these, focusing on Edward's relationship with Caroline, has been exclusively revealed, aiming to provide deeper insight into his motivations and character.

Ubisoft is preparing to launch "Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced," a remake of the acclaimed Assassin's Creed Black Flag. This project aims to be more than a visual upgrade, featuring comprehensive overhauls to various aspects of the game.
The seafaring adventure has been rebuilt using the Ubisoft Anvil engine, the same technology powering "Assassin's Creed Shadows." Alongside graphical enhancements, the remake introduces substantial changes to combat and other gameplay mechanics, as previously detailed by the development team.
Notably, the story has also undergone refinement. Darby McDevitt, the original game's lead writer and a Writers Guild of America nominee for his work on the title, rejoined the project as a consultant. His role involves re-examining the narrative to enhance existing characters and add new story chapters, including new members to Kenway’s crew.
McDevitt's focus for the remake includes adding greater depth to Edward Kenway's character through the addition of three new cutscenes. One of these newly added scenes, now exclusively revealed, delves into Edward's relationship with Caroline.
According to McDevitt, these new scenes aim to highlight a previously underexplored "sweet side" of Edward and his devotion to Caroline. He stated that the original game quickly established Edward's desire to become a privateer without fully anchoring his motivations in his love for his wife. The newly added cutscene aims to demonstrate Edward's feelings and his desire to provide for Caroline, thereby recontextualizing his actions and motivations within the narrative.
The new additions seek to offer players a fresh perspective on Edward Kenway, especially regarding his aspirations and the complexities of his marriage.
