Beijing Vendor 'Goose Leg Auntie' Accused of Selling Duck Legs as Goose
Chen Xiufeng, a 56-year-old street vendor in Beijing known as "Goose Leg Auntie," is facing criticism over allegations of selling less expensive duck legs as her popular roasted "goose legs." The vendor had developed a loyal customer base for her 16 yuan (US$2) snack, which was promoted through social media pre-order groups. She gained her nickname and popularity among students who would queue for her food after she began selling fruit in Beijing in 2000.

A Beijing street vendor, identified as Chen Xiufeng and known popularly as "Goose Leg Auntie," has reportedly come under scrutiny following allegations that she used cheaper duck legs as raw materials for her signature roasted "goose legs."
Chen, 56, had cultivated a dedicated following in the Chinese capital. Her roast "goose legs," priced at 16 yuan (approximately US$2), were particularly popular and marketed through social media pre-order groups.
Chen Xiufeng's journey as a vendor began in 2000 when she arrived in Beijing and started selling fruit outside university gates. She later earned the moniker "Goose Leg Auntie" due to the popularity of her goose leg snack, with students frequently queuing at night to purchase her product.
