CBFC Clears Three Films, Including 'Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata,' With Zero Cuts
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) recently approved three films without any cuts: 'Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata,' 'Haunted – Echoes Of The Past,' and 'Backrooms.' This decision comes after the board faced significant scrutiny and public criticism for cuts requested in other recent releases, including 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai,' 'Bandar,' and 'Obsession.' 'Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata' received a U/A 16+ rating, while the other two films were rated 'A.'

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has passed three films—'Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata,' 'Haunted – Echoes Of The Past,' and 'Backrooms'—without any requested alterations. This development follows a period where the CBFC was under scrutiny for demanding cuts in films such as 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai,' 'Bandar,' and 'Obsession,' which led to public criticism.
'Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata,' starring Kangana Ranaut and reportedly based on the 26/11 terror attacks, was certified with a U/A 16+ rating on May 29. Despite being a thriller that includes violent scenes, the CBFC's Examining Committee found no reason to implement any cuts. The film has a runtime of 127.13 minutes, equivalent to 2 hours, 7 minutes, and 13 seconds.
Vikram Bhatt's 'Haunted – Echoes Of The Past,' a 3D horror film starring Mimoh Chakraborty, received an 'A' rating. Films of this genre often face cuts for intimate or disturbing scenes; however, this movie was approved without any visual or audio edits. It was cleared on June 9 and has a length of 138.54 minutes, or 2 hours, 18 minutes, and 54 seconds.
Additionally, 'Backrooms,' a sci-fi psychological horror film, was granted an 'A' rating by the CBFC on June 8, also with no cuts. Its censor certificate specifies a runtime of 110.54 minutes, which is 1 hour, 50 minutes, and 54 seconds.
According to Bollywood Hungama, these clearances mark a notable week for the CBFC following recent controversies.
