An investigation has been launched by anti-corruption watchdogs in China's central Hunan province targeting multiple emergency management and local government officials.
This inquiry stems from a fireworks factory explosion that occurred last month, which tragically killed 37 people. The provincial discipline inspection commission announced on Thursday that three senior figures within the emergency management system are under investigation. These officials are being probed for "serious violations of discipline and law," with Lei Min, a deputy, named among them.
According to the South China Morning Post, the investigation is described as sweeping.
