Cordell Barker in Production on 'The Anta Claus of the South Pole'
Two-time Oscar-nominated Canadian animator Cordell Barker is currently in production on a new project titled "The Anta Claus of the South Pole." This animated feature is described as an alternative Christmas special and is scheduled for release in 2026. The production is a collaborative effort between Tonic DNA and the National Film Board of Canada, with additional association from Crave, a division of Bell Media Inc.

Canadian animator Cordell Barker, known for his two Oscar-nominated short films, “The Cat Came Back” and “Strange Invaders,” is currently developing a new animated special.
The project, titled “The Anta Claus of the South Pole,” is an alternative Christmas special. Production is underway, with a release targeted for 2026.
This animated work is a co-production between Tonic DNA and the National Film Board of Canada. It is being produced in association with Crave, a division of Bell Media Inc.
According to Variety, Barker's previous works have established his reputation in the animation industry.
