Dungeon Crawler Carl RPG Core Rulebook and Miniatures Available for Preorder
The highly anticipated tabletop role-playing game adaptation of the popular LitRPG series, "Dungeon Crawler Carl," is now available for preorder on Amazon. The game, developed by Renegade Game Studios, follows a successful crowdfunding campaign that raised over $13 million on Backerkit, significantly surpassing its $250,000 goal. Fans can secure the core rulebook and various miniature sets, with the official release scheduled for December 1, 2026.
The "Dungeon Crawler Carl" LitRPG series has seen a surge in popularity, and 2026 is set to bring significant expansions to the franchise. In addition to the eighth book by Matt Dinniman and a confirmed TV show in development for Peacock, a new tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG) is on the horizon.
Renegade Game Studios is behind the TTRPG adaptation, which saw an exceptionally successful crowdfunding campaign. Launched on Backerkit in April, the project garnered over $13 million, far exceeding its initial goal of $250,000. For those who missed the crowdfunding period, the core rulebook and miniatures are now available for preorder on Amazon, with a release date of December 1, 2026.
The core rulebook is essential for gameplay, with optional miniatures enhancing the experience. The RPG features a heavily skills-based system, allowing for a wide range of player and Game Master (GM) designed skills. These skills are categorized into Attack Skills, Spell Skills, Utility Skills, and Passive Skills.
Gameplay utilizes a 20-sided die for skill checks, a mechanic similar to Dungeons & Dragons. Uniquely, only players will roll the dice, with GMs not interacting with the d20 during the game.
Two sets of miniatures are available for preorder. Miniatures Set #1, titled "The Royal Court," includes nine figures depicting main characters such as Carl with a bomb, Carl with Princess Donut, Carl with his Xistera, Princess Donut, Princess Donut riding Mongo, Young Mongo, baby Mongo, Katia, and Samantha.
Miniatures Set #2, "Allies and Enemies," comprises 10 pre-painted figures representing key side characters outside The Royal Court. These include Hekla, Eva, Prepotente, Bianca, Lucia Mar Night, Lucia Mar Day, Quan Ch, Florin, and Lucia Mar's dogs Gustavo 3 and Cici.
The starter set, while details are limited on Amazon, is designed to teach players how to survive in Borant’s World Dungeon, focusing on tutorial floors.
According to IGN, the release of the tabletop RPG marks a significant development for the "Dungeon Crawler Carl" franchise.
