England and Wales Launch Project to Aid Child Sexual Abuse Victims in Online Image Removal
Child sexual abuse victims in England and Wales are set to receive support to remove online images of their abuse through the new Echo project. This initiative is part of a broader package designed to alleviate the prolonged suffering of survivors. The project will assist those who have reported their abuse to the police, helping them identify and erase harmful content.

A new initiative, dubbed the Echo project, will provide assistance to child sexual abuse victims in England and Wales, focusing on the removal of online images depicting their abuse. This project is a component of a wider support package aimed at mitigating the "prolonged suffering of survivors."
Participation in the Echo project is open to individuals who have reported their abuse to the police. The program is designed to help these victims identify and facilitate the removal of abusive images found on the internet.
In addition to online image removal, the comprehensive support package includes trauma support services for survivors. Victims will also be offered the opportunity to present a victim impact statement in court against their perpetrators and can pursue criminal or civil compensation.
