FBI, Google Dismantle Chinese Phishing Service 'Outsider Enterprise'
A collaborative effort involving the FBI, Google, and Lumen Technologies has led to the dismantling of 'Outsider Enterprise,' a China-based phishing-as-a-service operation. The service allegedly provided instructions to buyers on how to generate scam websites, reportedly utilizing AI tools such as Gemini. This cybercrime product, which cost $88, has been linked to substantial financial losses, estimated at $1.9 billion, and the compromise of 3.87 million payment cards.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), in cooperation with Google and Lumen Technologies, has successfully dismantled a sophisticated China-based phishing-as-a-service operation known as 'Outsider Enterprise.' The joint operation targeted the cybercriminal infrastructure that facilitated widespread online fraud.
Outsider Enterprise reportedly offered a service that coached its buyers on creating fraudulent websites designed to trick victims into divulging sensitive information. The operation allegedly leveraged artificial intelligence, specifically Gemini, to assist in the generation of these scam sites.
The cybercrime product, which was reportedly sold for $88, has been implicated in significant financial damages. Authorities link the service to an estimated $1.9 billion in losses globally and the theft of approximately 3.87 million payment card details.
