Colombian artist Feid released his new musical project, "El Moco Verde" (The Green Booger), a five-song mixtape, on Friday, June 12. The collection of tracks is presented as an homage to the golden era of New York hip-hop, incorporating rhythmic patterns and beats characteristic of the genre.
The mixtape features several collaborations. Italian rapper Sfera Ebbasta is featured on the track "Pienxa en Mi." Spanish rapper Munic HB joins Feid on the second track, titled "They Already Know." Fellow Colombian artist Granuja contributes to both "Los Cuervos" and "50 Mil Piex." The project's final song, "Recreo," is Feid's only solo performance on the release.
Feid's distinctive sound is reportedly evident throughout the collection, particularly in "Pienxa en Mi" and "50 Mil Piex." Tracks like "Los Cuervos" showcase the intention to channel sounds from artists such as Wu-Tang Clan, Nas, and Jay-Z, utilizing boom-bap drums and sample-driven loops. "Recreo" further highlights Feid's versatility, as he explores sounds reminiscent of late 1990s and early 2000s hip-hop.
Alongside Feid's new mixtape, other artists have also released new music this week. These include Mon Laferte with "Femme Fatale Vol. 2," Gente de Zona and Juan Magan with their new single "Isla Viva," and new offerings from Cultura Profética, Grupo Firme, FloyyMenor, and Gabito Ballesteros. Ronaldinho Gaucho's album "Camisa 10" is also among the recent releases. In the most recent New Music Latin poll, Yorghaki’s "Antes De Que Sea Tarde" secured the top spot with over 75% of the votes.
According to Billboard, the results of the weekly New Music Latin poll are posted if the poll generates more than 1,000 votes, with the latest poll closing at 11 a.m. ET on Monday, June 15.
