Additionally, players can earn items by linking accounts, completing mobile quests, playing Save the World, achieving seasonal wins, and engaging with Epic Games services like the PostParty app and two-factor authentication.

Fortnite continues to offer numerous free cosmetic items, allowing players to enhance their in-game experience without spending money on V-Bucks. These free items are available across various Epic-created modes and through special integrations with other games.
The Chapter 7 Season 2 Battle Pass, active until August 20, includes 28 free items that can be earned by leveling up. Players can also earn 200 V-Bucks, usable in the item shop or towards other passes. Highlights include the Sprite Seat back bling, Spirit Blade pickaxe, Voidblade's Voyager glider, and Dylan's Fur's weapon wrap.
The Laufey Music Pass, running until July 15, features nine free items, such as the Grand Keyano keytar, a microphone stand, an emote, a back bling, an aura, and four royalty-free jam tracks.
Fortnite's OG Season 8 OG Pass provides 12 unlockable items for free by leveling up. These include the Luxe Scythe pickaxe, Golden Vaultwings glider, Captain's Tally weapon wrap, and Take the Wheel emote.
Integration with Rocket League allows players to earn car-related cosmetics. Completing new player tutorial quests unlocks the Backfire car body and seven decals usable in both games. Additional car bodies, wheels, and accessories can be obtained randomly from loot crates earned through weekly and seasonal challenges. The Season 23 Rocket Pass, active until September 23, offers free items like Bitcrush rocket boost and Temple wheels. Rocket League tournament wins also yield points for loot crates, with six Season 22 items transferable to Fortnite, including Bad Rad and Cheesy wheels.
The Soaring Skies Lego Pass includes two loading screens, seven sets of Lego Fortnite decor items, and a functional Luft-Llama Longboat airship, all unlockable by leveling up in any Fortnite experience. Furthermore, linking a Lego account with an Epic Games account instantly provides the Fortnite and Lego styles for the Explorer Emilie and Mr. Dappermint skins. The free Lego True Explorers quest pack from the item shop, upon quest completion in Lego Fortnite Odyssey, awards the Trailblazer Tai skin and back bling.
Mobile-exclusive quests offer specific rewards such as the Yeddy skin for earning one account level and inviting a friend, the New Heart by Crash Adams jam track for two Fortnite Festival mobile quests, and the Keytarcade keytar for four Fortnite Festival mobile quests.
Players of the Save the World mode, which became free on April 16, can earn the Jess skin by accumulating 350,000 XP within the mode. Seasonal wins in Battle Royale, OG, Reload, and Blitz modes award unique umbrella gliders, with glowing variants available for wins in ranked modes. Using Epic's PostParty app to share gameplay clips unlocks the Post That! Weapon wrap. Activating two-factor authentication grants the Boogie Down emote. Participating in ranked modes (Reload and Battle Royale) offers various cosmetics like the Felinos skin, Felinos' Fury weapon wrap, and Ranked Flourish emote. Completing Reload map mastery quests yields items such as the Elites Issue weapon wrap and Re-Loading emote. Finally, signing up for Fortnite-related survey emails can unlock the Sir Beurre back bling.
According to GameSpot, these free items make it easier for players to enjoy Fortnite's cosmetic collection without additional purchases.
