Fox Corporation has agreed to acquire Roku Inc. for an approximate enterprise value of $22 billion, with the deal valuing Roku shares at $160 each, according to a recent announcement by the firms.
The acquisition will combine Fox’s broadcast channels, such as Fox, Fox News, Fox Business, and FS1, with Roku’s streaming hardware business, which includes streaming sticks and smart TVs. Additionally, Fox's existing streaming businesses, including Tubi—a free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) platform acquired by Fox in 2020—will be integrated with Roku’s own FAST service, The Roku Channel, and its operating system (Roku OS).
Roku has reported that its platform is currently utilized by 100 million households. While its hardware business recorded a loss of $19.1 million in the quarter ending March 31, 2026, the company's operating system and advertising business are considered its most valuable assets. In the same quarter, Roku’s advertising and subscriptions business generated a gross profit of $584.1 million, with advertising revenue alone contributing $371 million.
Roku achieved profitability in 2021, a period influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic, and reported annual profitability again in 2025.
