Google is introducing a new "Emergency Sharing" feature for Pixel Watches, designed to enhance user safety. This feature integrates with existing incident detection tools, such as Car Crash and Fall Detection, to automatically notify chosen contacts and call emergency services during severe events. The update expands the Pixel ecosystem's suite of safety functions, aiming to provide quicker response times in critical situations.
Google is implementing a new safety feature called "Emergency Sharing" for its Pixel Watch devices. This functionality is designed to work in conjunction with the Pixel's core incident detection capabilities.
Upon detection of a severe event, the Emergency Sharing feature will alert pre-selected contacts and initiate a call to emergency services. This integration aims to streamline the response process during critical moments.
The feature is linked with existing detection systems, including Car Crash Detection and Fall Detection, which are supported on Pixel Watch 2 and newer models. Additionally, Loss of Pulse Detection is supported on Pixel Watch 3 and later versions.
According to Android Authority, this rollout is part of a broader Pixel Drop, deepening Google's safety ecosystem for its wearable technology.
