Halo: Campaign Evolved Introduces Third-Person Mode and Campaign Remix
Halo: Campaign Evolved, a remake of the original Halo, will allow players to experience the game in third-person through a new 'Perspective' Skull. This feature is one of 42 gameplay-modifying Skulls, including 26 legacy and 16 new ones, which players can activate to alter gameplay. The remake also introduces a 'Campaign Remix' mode, enabling players to replay missions with randomized enemies and weapon pickups after collecting two Skulls. Launching on July 28 for $50, with a premium edition available July 23 for $70, the game will be accessible on Xbox, PC, and PS5.

Halo: Campaign Evolved, a remake of the original Halo title, is set to introduce a third-person gameplay option. This new perspective is not default but can be activated by toggling on the 'Perspective' Skull, one of 42 gameplay modifiers available in the game.
The game features 26 legacy Skulls from previous Halo titles and 16 entirely new ones. Other new Skulls include 'Floor Is Lava,' which causes players to take damage when touching the ground, and 'Speed Limit,' which disables sprinting, offering an experience closer to the original Halo: Combat Evolved.
In addition to the Skulls, Halo Studios announced a 'Campaign Remix' feature. This mode allows players to re-experience completed missions with randomized enemy factions, different weapon pickups, and new visibility effects. Unlocking Campaign Remix requires players to collect any two Skulls.
Halo: Campaign Evolved is scheduled for release on July 28, priced at $50 for the standard edition. A premium edition, costing $70, will offer early access starting July 23. The game will be available across multiple platforms, including Xbox, PC, and PlayStation 5. It will not include multiplayer support, though a separate upcoming Halo title is rumored to feature a live-service multiplayer experience.
Preorders for both standard and premium editions are currently live. According to GameSpot, their initial experience playing remade missions at Summer Game Fest left them "pretty unimpressed."
