The incident, where Pesimo slapped the child for refusing to eat, occurred on March 20 at their Wan Chai home.

A domestic helper in Hong Kong, Linne Pramis Pesimo, 48, has been given a three-year bind-over order by a local court following her admission to slapping her employer’s eight-year-old daughter. The Eastern Court, during its session on Monday, mandated the order on the condition that Pesimo maintain good behaviour. Consequently, the assault charge initially filed against her was dropped.
The incident, which led to the court's decision, took place on March 20. According to court details, Ms. Pesimo slapped the young girl once while serving dinner, after the child reportedly refused to eat her meal at their residence in Wan Chai.
At the time of the event, the girl's mother, identified as a single parent, was resting in a bedroom at their home. The bind-over order includes a HK$2,000 recognisance, which Pesimo could forfeit if she fails to adhere to the terms of her good behaviour for the specified three-year period.
This legal outcome means Ms. Pesimo will not face a criminal conviction for the assault, provided she complies with all conditions set forth in the bind-over order.
According to the South China Morning Post, the court heard the specifics of the case on Monday.
