Customers attempting to access the service found themselves unable to log in. The mobile banking application displayed a message stating that "access is restricted until we have your valid email address and mobile number."
Numerous customers experienced the disruption, with more than 10 individuals contacting a local newspaper on Monday morning to report their inability to access the mobile banking system since 9 am.
According to South China Morning Post, the issues affected customers trying to use HSBC's mobile banking services.
