Huawei Considers Deploying Ascend AI Chips in Latin America

Huawei Technologies is studying the potential deployment of its latest Ascend artificial intelligence chips across Latin America. These advanced chips would be utilized within the company's existing cloud and AI services in the region.

This initiative could mark a significant expansion for Chinese-designed hardware into Latin America, a market that has traditionally been a stronghold for US technology providers. The move aligns with efforts to broaden Huawei's technological footprint globally.

Mark Chen, president of Huawei Cloud Latin America, confirmed these plans during an interview following his presentation at the Rio Web Summit. The confirmation was provided to the South China Morning Post.
