Inter Milan Targets Real Madrid's Camavinga Amid Transfer Discussions
Inter Milan president Beppe Marotta recently visited the Santiago Bernabeu at the invitation of Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, potentially setting the stage for future transfer deals between the two clubs. Inter is reportedly targeting Real Madrid midfielders Eduardo Camavinga and Franco Mastantuono, with Camavinga identified as a priority for coach Cristian Chivu despite a reported €50 million valuation. The clubs have already engaged in transfer activity this summer, including the imminent move of Denzel Dumfries.
Inter Milan's president, Beppe Marotta, recently traveled to the Santiago Bernabeu, where he attended a legends match between Real Madrid and Inter Milan. This visit was at the invitation of Real Madrid's newly re-elected president, Florentino Perez, and could potentially establish a foundation for further transfer business between the two prominent clubs.
According to CalcioMercato.it, the relationship between Inter and Real Madrid has already seen significant movement this summer, including the imminent transfer of Denzel Dumfries from San Siro. Attention has now reportedly turned to two additional Real Madrid players, Franco Mastantuono and Eduardo Camavinga, who may be considered surplus to requirements.
Eduardo Camavinga has emerged as a priority target for Inter coach Cristian Chivu, who views the French midfielder's profile as an ideal fit for his team's midfield needs. However, a significant obstacle remains the financial aspect, as Real Madrid is reportedly seeking at least €50 million for Camavinga. This valuation currently exceeds Inter's budget for a new midfielder without first securing substantial sales. Juventus is also reported to be interested in Camavinga.
Regarding Franco Mastantuono, his first season at the Bernabeu was reportedly disappointing, and he faces challenges in securing playing time given the existing competition within the squad. Real Madrid's preference for Mastantuono is a loan deal with an option to buy, aimed at preserving their long-term interest in the Argentine player. However, Chivu's coaching staff is reportedly only lukewarm on Mastantuono from a tactical perspective at this stage.
