Iranian Envoy: U.S.-Iran Friendship Possible If Trump Avoids Israel Influence

Abolfazl Pasandjdeh, the Iranian ambassador to Mexico, made remarks on Friday suggesting the potential for a positive future relationship between Iran and the United States. Ambassador Pasandjdeh outlined a specific condition for such an improvement in bilateral ties.

According to the ambassador, a good relationship could materialize between the two nations if President Trump's foreign policy approach does not take cues from Israel. He was quoted stating, "If the U.S. closes its eyes to Israel’s interest, Iran and the U.S. can be very good friends."
