Jennifer Lopez Discusses Post-Divorce Self-Reflection on SmartLess Podcast

Jennifer Lopez recently discussed her period of self-reflection and personal growth following her 2024 divorce from Ben Affleck. Speaking on the SmartLess podcast, Lopez recounted how the end of her marriage led her to cancel a tour and prioritize introspection.

She stated that she felt the need to "figure yourself out" and acknowledge personal responsibility, saying, "There's nobody to blame here except yourself, in a certain way." Lopez explained that the past few years have been marked by significant life changes, including her children's graduation and relocating to a new residence.

Lopez, 56, noted that she acquired several horses as part of her new life, aiming to encourage her children to spend more time at home. She described the last two years as a "healing process," indicating a profound transformation. "The person I am today is so different than the person I was even two years ago, it's crazy," she commented.

Reflecting on past experiences, Lopez alluded to moments where her life felt like it "blew up in my own face," attributing these to her choices and aspects of herself that needed to change. She emphasized that a turning point came when she had to confront these issues.

Lopez's prior marriages include actor Ojani Noa (1997-1998), dancer Cris Judd (2001-2003), and singer Marc Anthony (2004-2014), with whom she shares 18-year-old twins Emme and Max. She and Affleck initially dated in 2002, reconnected in 2021, and married in 2022 before their 2024 divorce.

She recently told Jimmy Kimmel that she realized she had been "doing it all wrong" regarding dating and marriage. While acknowledging that others' behavior can be challenging, Lopez reiterated that the Affleck divorce prompted her to question her own actions and understand herself better. According to Billboard, this self-assessment marked a crucial turning point for her several years ago.
