Liverpool Engages in Talks for Lille Midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi

Liverpool has reportedly initiated discussions with the representatives of Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi. The 18-year-old Moroccan international, formerly a France youth international, has attracted interest from several top European clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal.

Bouaddi made 30 appearances for Lille in Ligue 1 last season, contributing to the club's qualification for the UEFA Champions League. He has also been a standout performer for Morocco, notably starring in their 1-1 draw against Brazil in a 2026 FIFA World Cup opener.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, who shared details on his YouTube channel, Lille anticipates significant interest in Bouaddi, with top clubs having engaged with his agents even before the World Cup. Romano specified that Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, and Arsenal have all held meetings with the player's representatives.

Despite signing a contract extension in December, Lille is reportedly prepared to sell Bouaddi for a fee of €70 million (£60m). His playing style is noted for intelligent positioning, strong tackling ability, and flair, alongside his skill with both feet. While his progressive passing is an area identified for improvement, it is expected to develop with experience.

A potential transfer for Bouaddi could raise questions regarding the futures of Liverpool midfielders Alexis Mac Allister and Curtis Jones, both of whom have two years remaining on their contracts and have been linked with exits. Liverpool is also reportedly monitoring Monaco’s Lamine Camara as they look to strengthen their midfield this summer.
