Liverpool is reportedly facing stiff competition in its pursuit of Midtjylland defender Han-beom Lee during the current summer transfer window, according to a report by journalist Graeme Bailey. Other Premier League clubs, including Leeds United, Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Brighton and Hove Albion, are understood to be also interested in acquiring the South Korea international.
The 23-year-old defender had a notable campaign for Midtjylland, contributing to the heart of their backline. He recorded four goals and four assists in 50 matches across all competitions last season. Lee is recognized as one of the top centre-backs in the Danish Superliga. His current contract with Midtjylland is set to expire at the end of next season.
Lee's defensive attributes include being a solid tackler, effectively scanning for danger, and making crucial interceptions. He is also described as a tidy passer and clears danger when opposition teams are on the offensive. Standing at 1.88 meters, he is noted for his ability to win aerial duels.
Should Liverpool secure his transfer, Lee could potentially add to Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola’s defence and challenge for a regular starting position at the Merseyside club.
