The French footballer, who developed through Lorient's academy, is coming off a season where he scored 10 goals in 28 Ligue 1 appearances. Olympique de Marseille has reportedly joined the clubs interested in signing FC Lorient playmaker Pablo Pagis. The 23-year-old midfielder, who came through Lorient's youth academy, has emerged as a key target following a successful season.
Pagis delivered a breakthrough performance, scoring 10 goals in 28 appearances during the recent Ligue 1 season.
The Frenchman has expressed his wish to depart from Lorient. However, the Breton club is not expected to facilitate his departure easily, even though he has only one year remaining on his current contract. While an initial valuation of €10 million was suggested, Lorient president Loic Féry has since stated that it would require €20 million to secure Pagis's transfer from the Moustoir stadium.
RC Lens, set to compete in the UEFA Champions League next season, has already shown interest in Pagis. Paris FC has also been linked with the player.
Marseille is the latest club to register interest in the No. 10 player. Negotiations between Marseille and Lorient have not yet commenced.
