Paris Department Store BHV Marais Ends Cooperation with Shein
A historic department store in central Paris, BHV Marais, has announced the termination of its partnership with Chinese ultra-fast fashion retailer Shein. This decision, reported by French media, could lead to the closure of Shein's first physical store in Paris by Christmas. Concurrently, La Societe des Grands Magasins (SGM), the owner of BHV Marais, has sold the store to a group of executives.

La Societe des Grands Magasins (SGM) announced on Tuesday the end of its cooperation with the Chinese ultra-fast fashion company Shein. French media outlets have reported that this development could result in the closure of Shein’s first physical store, located within the department store, by this Christmas.
BHV Marais, the department store in question, is a historic retail establishment situated in central Paris. It is located directly opposite Paris City Hall, a few hundred meters from Notre-Dame Cathedral.
In a separate transaction, SGM, which previously owned BHV Marais, has sold the store to a group of executives. This group is reportedly led by Karl-Stephane Cottendin, who is the outgoing Chief Executive Officer of SGM.
According to the South China Morning Post, the end of the cooperation follows a reported backlash.
