During an interview, Pluma described himself as euphoric and proud to wear the national team's jersey. He conveyed his hopes for the team as they prepare to face South Korea on June 18, stating, "May God bless them and may they give it their all, so that this time we're in that [final] game." The Grammy winner expressed high expectations for Mexico in the tournament, adding, "Well, [I'm] really happy because we debuted on the right foot. Mexico's going to win. Mexico has to win.
