PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson's 'Stateside' Hits No. 1 on Pop Airplay Chart
PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson's collaborative track, "Stateside," has reached the top spot on Billboard's Pop Airplay chart, dated June 20. The song's climb was significantly boosted following its feature in Alysa Liu's exhibition performance at the Milano Cortina Olympics on February 21. This achievement marks the first time both artists have led the Pop Airplay chart.
PinkPantheress's track, "Stateside," featuring Zara Larsson, has ascended two spots to claim the No. 1 position on Billboard’s Pop Airplay chart, dated June 20.
The song gained considerable momentum after Alysa Liu performed to it during her exhibition at the Milano Cortina Olympics on February 21. Liu, who became the women’s figure skating champion two days prior, earned the U.S. its first gold medal in the event since 2002. She notably emulated some of PinkPantheress’ choreography from the song’s video during her performance.
"Stateside" has also seen success on other Billboard charts. In March, it entered the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 6. The track spent one week at the summit of both the Billboard Global 200 and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts. Additionally, it has led the Hot Dance/Pop Songs chart for 16 consecutive weeks.
This marks a career milestone for both artists, as it is their first time reaching No. 1 on Pop Airplay. PinkPantheress previously secured a top 10 hit with “Boy’s a Liar, Pt. 2,” featuring Ice Spice, which peaked at No. 7 in 2023. Zara Larsson’s prior top 10 was “Never Forget You,” with MNEK, which reached No. 5 in 2016.
Zara Larsson is also experiencing further chart success, with "Midnight Sun" climbing 5-4 on the Pop Airplay chart, marking her third top 10 entry. She currently charts four titles on Pop Airplay for a sixth week, a unique feat for any artist this year. Her revived track “Lush Life” holds at its No. 28 high, and Tyla’s “She Did It Again,” featuring Larsson, remains at its No. 29 best.
Radio stations such as KIIS-FM Los Angeles and KYLD San Francisco, both iHeartMedia Pop Airplay reporters, are noted as leaders in plays for “Stateside.” Mark Adams, iHeartMedia’s vp of pop programming, has commended Larsson’s “joyous dance and synth-pop” for contributing to the format's diverse range of artists and songs.
All charts dated June 20 were scheduled to be updated on Billboard.com on Tuesday, June 16. (Source: Billboard)
