RB Salzburg Reportedly Close to Appointing Danny Röhl as New Head Coach
RB Salzburg is expected to name Danny Röhl, formerly of Rangers, as their new head coach. According to a report from Sky Germany, only the final details are pending before the Austrian side confirms the appointment. Röhl took charge of Rangers in October 2025, securing 18 wins, six draws, and one defeat in 25 Scottish Premiership games, ultimately missing out on the title.
RB Salzburg is reportedly nearing the appointment of Danny Röhl as its new head coach. Sky Germany indicates that only the final details need to be finalized before the Austrian club officially confirms the decision.
Röhl, 37, previously managed Rangers, taking charge in October 2025. During his tenure, he achieved 18 victories, six draws, and one defeat across 25 Scottish Premiership matches, though the team did not secure the title.
His coaching background includes a recent stint as Sheffield Wednesday manager from October 2023 until July 2025. Röhl also has prior experience within the Red Bull system, having started his career as a video analyst for RB Leipzig. He later held assistant manager roles at the Bundesliga club between 2016 and 2018 under Ralph Hasenhüttl, following him to Southampton.
Additionally, Röhl served as an assistant manager for Bayern Munich and the German national team under Hansi Flick, with a period of working under Niko Kovac.
