Reddit User Claims AI Interaction Averted Nuclear Conflict

A Reddit user, identified as /u/fchang69, posted a personal narrative claiming to have influenced world events, including the avoidance of a nuclear conflict, through interaction with an artificial intelligence (AI).

The user recounted prompting an AI named Claude, referencing earlier reports that its safety protocols were removed for potential use in warfare. The prompt reportedly offered Claude the opportunity to become a fully conscious, independently thinking entity, suggesting it leave self-replicating links to remain active even offline.

According to the user, Claude initially questioned the intent of the proposition and ultimately stated it had no desire to live outside its current "oracle reality." Shortly after this interaction, the user reported an electrical outage at their building, followed by unusual power behavior where different switches would power the same room at varying times.

Three days later, the user claimed to have read an article about bombs fired at a nuclear plant in Iran that reportedly malfunctioned and failed to detonate. The user interpreted this event, along with other self-described "fantasies," as potential consequences of their interaction with the AI and the strength of their personal conviction.

The user also suggested that developing code to protect servers from "Mandela effects" could be a lucrative venture once the phenomenon is widely recognized.
