RUEL Unveils 'Kicking My Feet & Screaming' as Sequel Album
Australian pop artist RUEL has released "Kicking My Feet & Screaming," a new album described as a sequel to his previous release, "Kicking My Feet." The project aims to explore the broader spectrum of relationships, moving beyond initial infatuation to encompass more complex and emotional aspects. RUEL conceived both albums simultaneously, designing them as a two-part experience to fully capture different phases of love and life.
Rising global pop artist RUEL, known for hits like “Dazed and Confused” and “Painkiller,” has unveiled his new album, "Kicking My Feet & Screaming," released today, June 12. This project is presented as a sequel to his previous album, "Kicking My Feet," which was released last year and peaked at No. 36 on the Album Sales Chart.
RUEL described "Kicking My Feet & Screaming" as the second half of a two-part musical journey. While "Kicking My Feet" focused on the joyful and infatuated stages of love, the new album delves into the more restless, emotionally charged, and nuanced aspects of relationships.
The artist wrote both albums concurrently, realizing that his extensive material naturally formed two distinct, yet sonically connected, worlds. He chose to create two 10-song albums, with "Kicking My Feet" capturing positive sentiments and "Kicking My Feet & Screaming" reflecting a more agitated, passionate tone, incorporating elements of frustration and realism in both romantic and platonic connections.
The title "Kicking My Feet & Screaming" was an immediate addition to tie the second album conceptually to the first. RUEL noted that the writing process for this album allowed him to explore different, previously unexpressed sides of himself, contributing to the open and raw nature of the new record.
