Taylor Swift, Alanis Morissette, KISS Inducted into Songwriters Hall of Fame 2026
The 2026 Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremony took place on Thursday, June 11, at Manhattan’s Marriott Marquis. Taylor Swift, Alanis Morissette, Kenny Loggins, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of KISS, Walter Afanasieff, Terry Britten & Graham Lyle, and Christopher “Tricky” Stewart were among the official inductees. Taylor Swift's induction was historic, marking her as the first recipient of the Hal David Starlight Award to later be inducted into the main Hall of Fame. RAYE received the Hal David Starlight Award, and John Fogerty, already an inductee, was honored with the Johnny Mercer Award.

Taylor Swift's induction marked a historic milestone for the organization. She became the first recipient of the Hal David Starlight Award to also be inducted into the proper Songwriters Hall of Fame. Swift had previously received the Hal David Starlight Award in 2010, an honor recognizing gifted young songwriters who make a significant impact.
During the ceremony, RAYE was honored with the Hal David Starlight Award. Additionally, John Fogerty, who is already a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, received the organization’s highest honor, the Johnny Mercer Award.
According to Billboard, the event celebrated the contributions of celebrated stars, low-key legends, power players, and rising talents in the music industry.
