Universal Search Features: iOS Spotlight, Android, and Samsung Finder Compared
iOS Spotlight provides comprehensive universal search capabilities for apps, contacts, files, and system tasks on iPhones. Android offers its own version of universal search, though it has been described as less robust. Samsung's S Finder, presented as an advanced Android search feature, was previously noted for not matching Spotlight's functionality by one observer.

iOS Spotlight has been an integral feature for years, enabling users to search for applications, contacts, and files, in addition to executing specific system tasks on iPhones.
Android operating systems also include their own versions of universal search. Samsung further offers its own advanced universal search feature, known as S Finder, within its Galaxy phone ecosystem.
However, a past assessment indicated that Samsung's S Finder did not achieve the same level of functionality as iOS's Spotlight. This perceived difference reportedly led an individual to not utilize S Finder, despite being a long-term user of Galaxy phones.
According to Android Authority, Spotlight has been integral to iOS for years.
