Valor Mortis Release Postponed to October 13th Amidst September Game Deluge
The action RPG Valor Mortis has announced a delay, shifting its release date from September 24th to October 13th. Developer One More Level cited the increasingly crowded September gaming schedule as the reason for the postponement. The move aims to provide the game with more room to establish itself, away from competition with titles like Control Resonant, Silent Hill: Townfall, and Onimusha: Way of the Sword.

Action RPG Valor Mortis will now launch on October 13th, having moved its release from the originally planned September 24th. This decision was made to navigate the crowded landscape of video game releases scheduled for September.
Blake Rochkind, head of publisher at Lyrical Games, indicated that the delay was decided "As soon as Control announced September 24th." He highlighted that Control Resonant and Silent Hill: Townfall were set for September 24th, with Onimusha: Way of the Sword following on September 25th.
Developer One More Level, known for Ghostrunner, stated the aim was to give "Valor Mortis (and your wallet) some room to breathe." Valor Mortis is described as a first-person soulslike where players embody a former soldier of Napoleon’s army, battling various monsters.
Rochkind noted that the initial September 24th date had appeared open before other major titles were announced. He also commented that he believes Control "looks like it might be a Game of the Year contender." The new October 13th release date was strategically chosen and announced after a Nintendo Direct event to ensure no other significant games were scheduled for the same day.
