Most of England's football training equipment, stolen prior to their arrival in Kansas City on Saturday, has been recovered. The theft occurred after vehicles transporting the equipment to their Swope Soccer Village base were broken into. Police confirmed that two arrests have been made in connection with the incident, which took place as the squad prepared for their World Cup opener.
England has successfully recovered the majority of its training equipment that was stolen ahead of the squad's arrival in Kansas City on Saturday.
The theft transpired after vehicles, which were transferring equipment to the team's Swope Soccer Village base, were broken into. The items were intended to be in place before the squad, led by Thomas Tuchel, was due to arrive in Kansas City on Saturday afternoon.
Police officers were present on Friday night to address the matter, maintaining contact with the Football Association (FA). Authorities have confirmed that two arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
Prior to the recovery, a spokesman for Kansas Police stated that an investigation was underway into a possible theft from a team vehicle that arrived in Kansas City with missing items. The investigation remains ongoing.
The incident occurred as Tuchel's side initiated preparations for their World Cup campaign, which is set to commence with a match against Croatia on Wednesday. The England players are scheduled to conduct their first full training day on Sunday.
