Fiorentina Revives Interest in Dragusin and Ruggeri for Defensive Reinforcement
Fiorentina is reportedly renewing its pursuit of Tottenham defender Radu Dragusin and Atletico Madrid's Matteo Ruggeri. Sporting director Fabio Paratici is targeting both players to strengthen the club's defense, following what has been described as an overall disappointing 2025/26 campaign. Both Dragusin and Ruggeri are reportedly valued at approximately €20 million each, posing a significant financial outlay for the Italian club.
Fiorentina is reportedly reviving its interest in two players currently playing abroad: Radu Dragusin from Tottenham Hotspur and Matteo Ruggeri from Atletico Madrid. Sporting director Fabio Paratici is said to be targeting both individuals as part of an effort to bolster the club's defensive line this summer.
According to reports, Fiorentina aims to recover from what has been described as an overall disappointing 2025/26 campaign. Dragusin, a centre-back for Tottenham with previous experience in Serie A, was previously a target for Fiorentina during the January transfer window.
Ruggeri, a left-back with a history at Atalanta before moving to Atletico Madrid, is also a key target. Both Dragusin and Ruggeri are reportedly valued at approximately €20 million by their respective clubs, which would represent a considerable investment if Fiorentina were to pursue both transfers simultaneously.
The relationship between Fiorentina's sporting director Paratici and Tottenham is noted as a potential factor in any renewed negotiations, given Paratici's previous tenure in North London. Tottenham's valuation of Dragusin, however, remains a primary obstacle to a deal.
