Fluminense Striker Kelwin Nears Transfer to Finnish Club
Brazilian club Fluminense is reportedly finalizing the transfer of 20-year-old striker Kelwin to an undisclosed Finnish club. The promising youth academy product, known for his prolific scoring in the São Paulo Junior Football Cup, has reportedly bid farewell to his teammates, with only bureaucratic procedures pending to complete the deal. Kelwin made a single senior team appearance in 2025 and is under contract with Fluminense until late 2027.
Fluminense is reportedly in advanced stages of selling striker Kelwin to a Finnish club. The 20-year-old forward, a product of Fluminense's youth academy, has reportedly said goodbye to his teammates, with only administrative steps remaining to finalize the transfer.
Kelwin has been a notable figure in the club's youth ranks, particularly in the São Paulo Junior Football Cup (Copinha). He holds the distinction of being the third-highest scorer in Fluminense’s Copinha history, having netted seven goals across three editions of the tournament.
His only appearance for the senior team occurred in 2025 during a Copa Sudamericana match against GV San Jose. In that fixture, Fluminense fielded an alternative lineup featuring several young players. Following this appearance, Kelwin was not given further opportunities with the first team. His last competitive outing in a Fluminense shirt was in an Under-20 Championship match, which saw the team lose 2-0 to Cruzeiro.
Kelwin is currently under contract with Fluminense until the end of 2027. The club is reportedly planning a restructuring of its Under-20 squad, which is expected to lead to additional player departures in the near future.
