Former CUHK Rehab Centre Head Charged with Fraud in Hong Kong
Lau Mun-cheung, 65, the former head and consultant physiotherapist of the Chinese University Medical Centre’s Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Centre, has been charged with fraud. Hong Kong’s anti-corruption watchdog, the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC), announced on Monday that Mr. Lau is accused of falsely claiming to have personally provided professional services to patients. These alleged false claims were made to obtain fees for services including consultations and procedures.

The accused is Lau Mun-cheung, 65, who previously served as the head and consultant physiotherapist of the institution’s Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Centre.
The ICAC alleges that Mr. Lau falsely claimed to have personally rendered professional services, such as consultations and procedures, to patients. These alleged actions were reportedly aimed at securing fees.
