Iliman Ndiaye Hints at Future Return to Olympique Marseille
Senegalese footballer Iliman Ndiaye has suggested a potential future return to Olympique Marseille, two years after his departure from the club. Ndiaye, 26, played for OM during the 2023-24 season before joining Everton. Despite a challenging individual and collective year at Marseille, where he made 46 appearances, scoring four goals and providing five assists, he believes his story with the club is not yet complete.
Iliman Ndiaye, the 26-year-old Senegalese forward, has indicated that a future return to Olympique Marseille remains a possibility. His comments come two years after he left the club following a single season.
During the 2023-24 season, Ndiaye featured in 46 appearances for Olympique Marseille across all competitions. In this period, he contributed four goals and five assists. He had been signed for a fee of nearly €20 million before subsequently moving to Everton.
Reflecting on his departure, Ndiaye noted that when Everton expressed interest, no one at Marseille attempted to retain him. He also expressed a belief that his experience at OM, though difficult, may have served a purpose in his career development.
Ndiaye stated in an interview, "It's certain that the story with OM is far from over." He also pondered how different his time at the club might have been if he had joined with two Premier League seasons already under his belt.
According to Yahoo Sports Soccer, Ndiaye's remarks suggest he has not closed the chapter on his relationship with Olympique Marseille.
