Karlovy Vary Film Festival Unveils Adaptation Showcase Selections

This new initiative includes 11 films from "established filmmakers with extensive festival pedigrees" and eight books. The showcase is designed to establish itself as a "Central-Eastern European IP market" for intellectual property.
The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF) has officially unveiled the selections for its first-ever adaptation showcase. This new program aims to connect literary works with screen productions, fostering development within the industry.
Among the announced selections are 11 movies, which the festival described as originating from "established filmmakers with extensive festival pedigrees." In addition to the cinematic works, eight books have also been chosen to be part of this inaugural showcase.
The adaptation showcase has been designed with a specific goal in mind: to become a significant "Central-Eastern European IP market." This initiative is expected to facilitate the exchange and development of intellectual property within the region's creative sectors.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, these announcements were made during the KVIFF Industry Days.
