Lead Actor Sonu Mishra Exits 'Kala Hiran' Amid Controversy and Legal Action
Sonu Mishra, the lead actor in the film 'Kala Hiran: Battle of Legacy,' has announced his departure from the project. Mishra stated he never formally signed an agreement and raised concerns about the film's potential to portray superstar Salman Khan negatively and present a one-sided narrative regarding the blackbuck case. This development follows a legal challenge initiated by Salman Khan's team, which has approached the Delhi High Court seeking a ban on the film and its promotional materials, citing violations of personality rights and an ongoing legal matter. The High Court has issued a notice to the filmmakers, with the next hearing scheduled for June 19, leaving the film's future uncertain.

Sonu Mishra, the lead actor slated to portray a character resembling Salman Khan in the film 'Kala Hiran: Battle of Legacy,' has publicly confirmed his exit from the project. Mishra stated that he had not formally signed an agreement for the film, which is produced by Amit Jani and reportedly draws inspiration from publicly available information concerning the blackbuck case involving Salman Khan.
Mishra expressed his concerns, stating he did not wish to be part of a film that he perceived as potentially depicting Salman Khan negatively or presenting a one-sided narrative. He mentioned having shot for two days but decided to step away after reviewing the script and contractual terms, which he claimed included clauses requiring him to speak negatively against the star in the media, actions he deemed against his ethics.
This departure intensifies the controversy surrounding the film. Salman Khan and his legal team have petitioned the Delhi High Court to ban the film and its promotional content. The petition reportedly argues that the project infringes upon the actor’s personality rights and is based on a sub judice legal matter.
Responding to the petition, the Delhi High Court has issued a notice to the makers of 'Kala Hiran: Battle of Legacy.' The next hearing in the case is scheduled for June 19. The increasing legal scrutiny and the exit of key personnel, including the lead actor, cast uncertainty over the film's future.
According to Bollywood Hungama, the film's initial poster, featuring Mishra's likeness to Salman Khan, had already garnered significant attention.
