Launched in October 2025, the set is part of Lego's collection of official Nintendo models aimed at adults and collectors.

The Lego Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi building set, featuring 1,215 pieces, is presently offered at a discounted price of $104 on Amazon, down from its initial $130.
This display model is designed to authentically capture the pixelated aesthetic from the Super Nintendo era, making it the only Nintendo Lego set to recreate pixel art. The completed model measures 15.5 x 10 x 4 inches and includes several interactive components. These features include a dial behind Yoshi's head to extend his tongue, a side crank for a more elaborate animation, and moving legs to simulate Yoshi running. The figure also incorporates a quick bouncing motion, Yoshi's head moving forward and back, and Mario's cape swaying gently.
The set also features an Action Tag, allowing it to react with interactive figures (Mario, Luigi, or Peach) from the Adventures with Lego Super Mario starter courses. While officially part of Lego's 18-plus "for adults" line, it is noted that children experienced with 1,000-piece sets would likely have no issues with its assembly.
The Mario & Yoshi set launched in October 2025 as one of the more affordable kits in Lego's collection of nine official Nintendo models for adults and collectors. Other sets in this lineup include the 421-piece Lego Game Boy, priced at $60, and the 540-piece Piranha Plant, which is also discounted to $42 from $60. The Lego Game Boy, launched on October 1, features buildable cartridges for The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening and Super Mario Land, along with lenticular screens displaying game sequences.
Two other retro gaming Nintendo sets, the Lego NES and Super Mario 64 Question Block, are officially retired. Additionally, The Mighty Bowser and The Great Deku Tree are slated for retirement soon.
