Lenovo has officially introduced the Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2, the latest iteration in its tablet lineup. Priced at $399.99, the new Android tablet is designed to offer an enhanced user experience compared to its predecessor, featuring richer audio, an upgraded display, a built-in kickstand, and several new AI capabilities.
The Tab Plus Gen 2 incorporates a JBL 9-unit Pro speaker system, which has been fine-tuned with Dolby Atmos audio technology. This setup aims to provide a rich, cinematic audio experience, and the tablet is also capable of functioning as a standalone Bluetooth speaker. Complementing the audio enhancements is a 12.1-inch 2.5K LCD display, which supports Dolby Vision and HDR10 video content, boasting a maximum brightness of 800 nits.
A built-in kickstand is integrated into the back of the device, allowing it to be propped up for viewing or used as a grip for portability. In standby mode, the tablet can also serve as a digital picture frame.
Under the hood, the tablet is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 octa-core processor and starts with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It supports Android 16 at launch, with plans for two subsequent OS upgrades through Android 18. Lenovo states the device will deliver approximately 15 hours of battery life and includes intelligent features such as AI live transcription, Lenovo Smart Reader, and AI Notes. The Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 is expected to be available globally soon, though an exact release date has not yet been specified.
