North West, the 12-year-old daughter of Ye (formerly Kanye West) and Kim Kardashian, achieved a new milestone in her burgeoning music career by delivering her first solo set at a music festival. The performance took place on Friday, June 12, at Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash 2026 in Chicago, Illinois.
During her set, North West performed "TALKING," a 2024 collaboration with her father, Ye, which features on his album "Vultures 1." She was dressed in a black Balenciaga ensemble, dark sunglasses, spiky jewelry, and long blue pigtails. Both Ye and Kim Kardashian celebrated the moment on social media, with Ye reposting a performance clip and Kardashian sharing backstage photos and a video of her daughter arriving.
This debut solo festival appearance comes shortly after the release of North’s debut EP, "N0rth4evr," which became available in early May. Her previous musical engagements include appearances on Ye and Ty Dolla $ign’s "Vultures" album, FKA twigs’ "EUSEXUA" album, and the release of her single “Piercing on My Hand” in February. She also made guest appearances at Ye’s SoFi Stadium shows in Los Angeles in April.
The Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash 2026 festival, a three-night event, is scheduled from June 12 to June 14 at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois. The festival features Lil Uzi Vert, Playboi Carti, and Baby Keem as headliners.
According to Billboard, the crowd was observed to be enthusiastic during North West's performance of "TALKING."
