Olivia Rodrigo made a surprise appearance at No Doubt's final residency performance at the Sphere in Las Vegas on Saturday, June 13.
The pop singer was initially in the audience, holding a pink sign that read, "I’m just a girl who wants the last hug at the last show." Gwen Stefani, known for bringing fans on stage for hugs during the 18-show run, recognized Rodrigo. This occurred one day after Rodrigo released her third studio album, *You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love*.
Upon being invited on stage, Stefani exclaimed, "Is that Olivia Rodrigo? Oh my gosh. Give it up for Olivia Rodrigo! She has a new record that just came out." Rodrigo, dressed in black boots, a black and white striped miniskirt, yellow T-shirt, and white baseball hat, waved to the crowd and hugged Stefani. She then took the microphone, stating, "No Doubt, best band in the world! I love you so much." The two artists shared additional hugs before Rodrigo exited the stage. Stefani later confirmed the appearance in an X post, writing, "thank u so much for coming @oliviarodrigo."
Rodrigo has previously expressed her admiration for No Doubt. She appeared as a surprise guest during No Doubt's reunion at Coachella in 2024, performing "Bathwater." For that performance, Rodrigo wore an outfit reminiscent of Stefani's style, including black dress pants and a white tank top with a visible red bra that read “I ❤️ ND.” She also covered No Doubt's 1996 hit "Don’t Speak" during her 2025 Lollapalooza Chile headlining set, remarking on her admiration for the song. Additionally, "Just a Girl" was included in her setlist during her 2022 North American Sour tour.
No Doubt's 18-show residency commenced on May 6. Gwen Stefani became the first woman to headline the Sphere, a venue that has hosted acts such as U2, Phish, Dead & Company, The Eagles, and The Backstreet Boys.
