Real Madrid Secures Two Summer Signings, Kylian Mbappe Praises Konate
Real Madrid has confirmed its initial two signings for the summer transfer window following Florentino Perez's re-election as president. Denzel Dumfries is set to join as a replacement for Dani Carvajal, while Ibrahima Konate will arrive once his Liverpool contract concludes. International teammate Kylian Mbappe has expressed approval of Konate's impending move to the Bernabeu, commending his defensive qualities and tactical flexibility.
Florentino Perez's re-election as president has led to Real Madrid securing its initial two signings for the upcoming summer transfer window. These acquisitions mark the beginning of the club's transfer activity under Perez's continued leadership.
Denzel Dumfries is expected to join Real Madrid, stepping in as a replacement for the departing Dani Carvajal. Additionally, an agreement has been finalized for Ibrahima Konate to move to the club once his current contract with Liverpool expires. Real Madrid had initially shown interest in Konate last summer, later withdrawing, but ultimately re-engaged to complete his signing.
Kylian Mbappe, Konate's international teammate, has voiced his satisfaction regarding the defender's imminent transfer to the Bernabeu. According to L’Equipe, as reported by MD, Mbappe offered a strong endorsement of Konate. He described Konate as "a very aggressive defender, in the best sense of the word. Never a bad gesture, he is hard with the marking, he wants his opponent to feel that he is going to have a hard night."
Mbappe further added, "I love defenders like him in my team, with grit, who are tactically flexible, because they are capable of going after their marker as well as holding on in one-on-ones, winning duels and being tactically disciplined."
Konate's addition is seen as a strategic move for Real Madrid. He is largely anticipated to serve as an alternative or replacement for Antonio Rudiger, given their similar playing styles. The French defender is expected to contribute a significant physical presence to Real Madrid's backline. Should he maintain fitness, there is an expectation for him to potentially form defensive partnerships with Rudiger, Dean Huijsen, and the currently injured Eder Militao.
