Study Investigates Handala Hacker Group's Operations, Links to Iran's MOIS
A new study led by Prof. Gabriel Weimann and Daniel Haberfeld has examined the activities of the Handala hacker group. The research, conducted by the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT) at Reichman University and the University of Haifa, sought to characterize whether the group's operations are best described as cyberterrorism or psychological warfare. The Handala group is identified as having links to Iran's Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

A recent study has delved into the operations of the Handala hacker group, aiming to understand the nature of its activities. The research specifically explored whether these operations are primarily indicative of cyberterrorism or psychological warfare.
Prof. Gabriel Weimann, a senior researcher at the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT) at Reichman University and a professor emeritus in the Department of Communication at the University of Haifa, co-authored the study. Daniel Haberfeld, a researcher and head of the Cyberterrorism Desk at ICT, also contributed to the investigation.
