Tactical Analyst Roderick van der Ham Expected to Depart Liverpool
Liverpool's coaching staff continues to see changes following the departure of head coach Arne Slot. Slot, who led the team to a Premier League title, left after his sophomore campaign, with Andoni Iraola taking over. The club previously announced the exits of Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Ruben Peeters, and assistant manager Sipke Hulshoff. Reports now suggest that tactical analyst Roderick van der Ham, brought in by Slot from Feyenoord, is also expected to leave Anfield. Liverpool has thanked the departing coaches for their contributions.
Liverpool’s Premier League title-winning head coach, Arne Slot, has departed the club. Slot, 47, left after his second season, with Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards opting for a change in leadership. Andoni Iraola has since been appointed as the new head coach.
Prior to Slot's removal, the appointment of Etienne Reijnen to the backroom team was in its final planning stages, a deal that was subsequently aborted. Liverpool has also announced the departure of several other members of Slot’s staff.
On Friday, the club confirmed the exits of Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Ruben Peeters, and assistant manager Sipke Hulshoff. Liverpool placed on record their thanks for the coaches’ contributions, indicating that there will be no space for Slot's contingent under the new leadership of Iraola.
According to a report on talkSPORT, tactical analyst Roderick van der Ham is also expected to leave Anfield in the foreseeable future. Van der Ham was brought to Liverpool by Slot from Feyenoord, where he had worked under Slot for 95 matches since 2022.
Van der Ham began his career in football at the age of 18 and has held various positions across different teams. His past roles include serving as a video analyst for the Netherlands’ Under-19s, RKC Waalwijk, and Heracles. He also previously worked as a fitness coach at NAC Breda.
