Tottenham Schedules Behind-Closed-Doors Friendly Against MK Dons

Tottenham Hotspur will host MK Dons in a behind-closed-doors friendly match at Hotspur Way on July 22. This fixture is scheduled as part of the club's pre-season preparations, offering new manager Roberto De Zerbi an opportunity to evaluate his squad. The assessment is intended to inform decisions for the upcoming transfer window and ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

The Premier League season is set to begin later than usual on August 22 due to the World Cup calendar. Tottenham's first-team players are anticipated to return to training in stages throughout July, commencing with medical and fitness tests before full training sessions begin.

Players expected to feature in the friendly include those not participating in the World Cup and individuals returning from long-term injuries, such as James Maddison. The club will also monitor the progress of players like Mohammed Kudus and Dejan Kulusevski. Academy prospects, including Mikey Moore, Will Lankshear, and Jamie Donley, alongside players returning from loan spells like Manor Solomon and Ashley Phillips, are also expected to receive valuable playing time.

MK Dons arrives in north London following their automatic promotion back to League One under head coach Paul Warne. Tottenham previously played MK Dons five years ago, securing a 3-1 victory at Stadium MK.

Following the match against MK Dons, Tottenham will travel to New Zealand to face Auckland at Eden Park on July 26. The team will then proceed to Australia for a game against Sydney at Allianz Stadium on July 29. Tottenham's pre-season schedule also includes participation in the 2026 Sydney Super Cup, where they will play Chelsea in a friendly London derby on August 1 at Accor Stadium.
